Senior year- Semester 1

Hi everyone!
Sorry I haven’t posted in ages! I’ve been super busy with school.
I am here today to share my experiences of semester 1 of year 12. It has been a really stressful semester and will probably get even worse starting tomorrow! (term 3 starts tomorrow kill me now!) I will be talking about how each subject is going along with other stuff and how studying and the workload is!

SAC’s and how well i’m going
First term 1 was actually ok. It was stressful and I held myself to a higher standard as we were just starting off the year and I wanted to show my teachers my full capability before it goes downhill in term 2! (some reason for everyone motivation drops after the first term!) I did really well in this term and didn’t get extremely stressed even though the 2nd week back I already one assignment due and 2 SAC’s.
I started off amazing in english as the first thing we did was a creative assignment and the second SAC was on an amazing book! Business went really well actually I didn’t know what the subject was going to be like as I never did it before but it ended up being really good (boring at times but easy to understand!). The next subject is health and I started off well in this subject (98% on a test and 90% on a SAC)! as I love my teacher and the content was easy to understand. The content was still really good but got harder as the term went on. My marks weren’t bad thankgod but they weren’t as good as they were.
My last subject is Legal! And I did really well on the first few SAC’s in this term. The content got hard by the end but I still did really well .

However, this second term was so incredibly stressful. I have no idea how or why but everything just went downhill not just for me but for most people in my year. It started off with having 3 SAC’s within the 2nd week. Now this is normally fine but the unit we did for english I was incredibly bad at and I did that SAC on the Thursday (cried afterwards) and had a health test the same day. On the Friday I then had a business SAC and a Legal SAC. (Did well in the business one surprisingly but so bad in the Legal one)
English this semester was a mess for me mainly due to 2 of the main SAC’s being the topic I cannot do. I ended up doing very well in the SAC that was on the 2nd week and then refused to look at my mark on the 2nd SAC as we got that back on a stressful day.
The last SAC we had that term was an oral. Now I am incredibly bad at public speaking even though I love talking so I was so proud of myself for getting 90% in that. I thought my speech was bad but all my friends in my class were reassuring me and cheering me on because they could tell how nervous I was.
Health this semester was very strange. The content started to get even harder and for the first SAC I was stupid and procrastinated studying. We had a content test and I knew absolutely nothing and was about to cry so my teacher said I can do it with my notes (bless). I still ended up doing well in the SAC but my teacher said I should start to study earlier for the next one’s and thats exactly what I did! And for the next SAC I did amazing and we both were very proud of myself! (however the next SAC that we started learning content for is going to be the hardest)
Business was still good this term. It’s a subject that’s pretty self explanatory with definitions so it went very well! Another thing to mention is my class is amazing and we always make a boring class fun! We also had an excursion this term which was kinda a waste of time but did help overall on the SAC.
Lastly Legal this term. I didn’t do my best on the SAC’s due to the first one being on the same day as my busman SAC which made it very difficult. And the second SAC I have no idea what went wrong but the SAC wasn’t worth much so hopefully I can make up those marks in other SAC’s and the exam! The last SAC we did was on the last day of school. I think it went well! (fingers crossed)
This term was incredibly difficult as when I thought all the tests and SAC’s were over, I had more texts being thrown at me and couldn’t stop to take a break until the very last day of the term.

In term 1 we had boys Formal and in Term 2 we had girls formal! They both were Amazing and I had so much fun at both.
In term 2 on a Tuesday night we had a House dinner at a Pizza place! It was so fun as we got to bond as a group as well as not be stressed for a night! Talking about House! In term 1 we did house performing Art’s and we won overall! Secondly for the house in Term 2 we had a sport’s day and I did Dodgeball which we won!  See there are some things that can be fun in year 12 (kinda)

Spares/ Studying
In my term 1A experience I talked about how you can be on top of work if you keep organised. Yeah thats bullshit, sometimes you just can’t do everything you want and that’s ok. You either have to pull an all nighter or just sleep and attempt to do it in your spare. Spare’s are literally the only thing getting me through. Bless having 10 spares. The only downside is I rely on them too much and don’t do as much work at home. I have been using my spare’s really well. I’ve been able to get my work done and then if I need it rest on the couch or get extra work done. The only problem is when you become friends with everyone in your spare, you can get easily distracted and end up talking about dropping out and become a stripper (legit conversation). Overall the workload isn’t that much, it’s just the studying thats incredibly stressful and is what takes the most out of you.

Stress is a very big issue in year 12 and unfortunately it doesn’t go away throughout the whole term as after you stop worrying about one thing, something else comes up. The best way to deal with it is have some tea, get some chocolate and relax for half an hour a night after you studied. Another way to relax is have a bath with a bath bomb while playing your favourite music! Stress is just inevitable in year 12 and the only way to get over it sometimes is just to stop what you’re doing and relax cause you can’t be productive while you’re extremely stressed.

Overall, This semester has been very stressful but the social aspect was really fun and made it worth it in the end. To everyone that’s going into year 12 next year I wish you good luck and to everyone in it now we can get through this together! 🙂 xx

School Organisation tips

Hey guys,
Since it’s back to school soon (for me anyways) I’ve decided to do a bunch of posts dedicated to school! (So much fun)
If you have’t see it already I have done a summary of how my senior year has gone so far! So please check that out
Term 1A reflection
In today’s post i’ve decided to talk about some organisation tips that have personally helped me so much and will hopefully help you guys too!(Some of tese tips are also studying tips)

Tip 1 📝
Planners-remember to put down dates and homework down in a diary. In class after you get homework or even if you just realised you should do some palm cards write it down in your diary and when you get home bring your diary with you to your study space and you will be able to see what things you need to do!

Tip 2 📝
Clean desk- Organising your desk will help you find things more easily and will give you a lot of space for you do to your work. Also having a nice clean and tidy study space will make you feel more calm.

Tip 3 📝
Different colours- Assign a colour to every subject you do. For example I have 4 subjects and a different colour for each. I also have the books in the colour I assigned them too so I can find them quickly in my locker. Another tip would be for when you write homework down in your planner, write it in the colour of the subject.

Tip 4 📝
Highlighters- Highlighting the important things. For example I write example in yellow do if I need to find any examples I can easily find them.

Tip 5 📝
Pretty notes- If your notes are all organised and pretty or even the notes you typed up are all pretty it will make you feel more organised and make you want to actually study them. Make it fit your aesthetic.

Tip 6 📝
Palm cards/ type notes- This is mainly a study tip but every few days in your spares or when you get home, start to type up all your notes and start palm cards. (This is only for the more visual learners) Adding in the notes and palm cards as you go will make you retain it more easily and also save you time from doing it at the end of the year.

Tip 7 📝
Summary notes when you get home- This is also just more of a study tip but when you get home, grab a random book and start writing down everything you learned that day. This will help you retain the information and also help you see what subject or units in the class you need to go over.

Tip 8 📝
Plan out what you’re going to study on what days- In your diary or print table and write in the times and then put in what you do throughout your day and then fill in what you’re going to study on each day.

Tip 9 📝
Time management- This goes hand in hand with the last one but you need to make sure that you do your homework preferably the night you get it but if you can’t just try and not leave it till the last minute. Also when you’re studying make sure you don’t studying for hours everyday with no breaks. If you do this then you won’t retain the information as well.

Tip 10 📝
Declutter- Declutter everything you don’t need around your study space or in your locker at school. The more messy it is the more stressed out you would be. If you get rid of all the notes that you won’t need or everything on your desk, you can keep it free for all the important things and it will help be become more organised and less stressed throughout the year.

Bonus tip
The Pomodoro Method- the most efficient studying is 25 minutes of study and then a 5 minute break. Every 3rd break is 20 minutes long. This is proven to maximise how much you can get done and how well you do it!

I hope this helped! comment below if it did

Senior School | term 1A

Hey guys!
I am starting this thing where I look back on and talk about my year 12 experience. So far I’ve only done 4 weeks which we call term 1A. So like this is the little part after term 4, which for some reason the school decided that we should already start the next year. I also want you guys to know that I’ve also started a study inspiration/ tips account on instagram. It’s called studygold! So if you want to see the tips I post on here before I actually post them on here go follow! x

These types of posts  will be more interesting once the years go on. This one would just be about me adjusting to year 12 so far. I thought doing these could give the people who will go through this next year some insight into what it’s actually like!
I was inspired to do this by Rachel Catherine on youtube!

Anyway this small term we had was actually so much fun! Since the teachers weren’t allowed to give us any assignments it was really chill. When I first got my timetable I was amazed at how many spares I had (I have 10 spares a week). I also got all the teachers I wanted (bar like one but they’re actually an amazing teacher! so it ended out well). I do 4 subjects, Business, English, legal and health. They’re all really basic but also really fun. Already I can tell we have way more freedom and that the teachers trust us and are more friendly with us than previous years. Teachers become more of a friend to you and treat you more like an adult when you start being in year 10/11/12.

The first thing I want to talk about is spares. First off I was using them really well and since my friends are only in a few of my spares I’ve actually been able to complete a lot of my work so I dont have to do it at home and I can leave that time too study. My routine for if I have a double spare/ triple is I go to the canteen at the beginning to get a drink and chill and then I get into it so I have a little break before I get started on the work. Sadly during the end of this term I did not use them so wisely due to just finishing exams and then having to have 4 weeks of the next year straight after that. It was so tiring and not just me but everyone was just so fucking done. But if you use spares wisely and actually get work done (some spares you should have naps or chill if you’re in that type of head space otherwise if you do work, it will just make you stressed or you won’t retain the information)
During spares I normally would either start homework that I got (if i even got any), then do whatever work is needed for the class I have next, then just start typing up notes/ doing palm cards and making quizlet’s for all my subjects.

Secondly I want to talk about is homework load. I find that you don’t get much homework at all in year 12. I’ve only gotten two pieces of homework during the 4 weeks. All the other work you would need to do is just studying/ getting your palm cards and notes ready or it’s just an assignment that you need to finish off at home. Other than those I haven’t particularly gotten any homework. To be honest I didn’t even get much homework in year 11 either.

The third thing I want to talk about is if classes are hard. I am not the best person to answer this due to the types of subjects  I’m doing. A lot of people would think they’re the easy subjects. But yes my classes are easy however they have so much information in them which is really hard to remember. I’m not a maths or science person at all and those are counted as the “hard” subjects. But the acclaimed hard subjects vs the subjects I do are hard in there own ways such as problem solving vs retaining alot of information. In the end it’s not if the subject you’re doing will scale you up or down it’s if you enjoy the subject that matters.

The fourth thing I want to talk about is stress in year 12. I stress a lot. Like a lot a lot. See even though this term was short I already had like 2 mental breakdowns due to stress over tests we had that didn’t go towards anything (so of course I stayed home so I didn’t have to do it and re sit it another time.. yeah still failed cause I had 2 tests in one day but like I got 95% on the other one so I count it as a win win situation… yeah I’m not a good role model lol). Yes of course you don’t want to be stressed but you should have a little bit otherwise it shows you’re not trying as hard as you should/ you don’t care that much about it. A little stress can be good sometimes!

The fifth thing I want to talk about is studying. I actually like studying. I’m not sure why but I love making palm cards and just learning in general. You need to study a lot in year 12 and I’ve already learned this with doing only 4 weeks. Especially when you have alot of information that you learn in your classes that you need to remember. In the end studying will help you so much during the year. Last year I kinda didn’t study as hard as I should of and I for a result I was just eh with.

And the last thing I want to talk about is social life during year 12. I don’t have much to say about this from experience as it’s only been 4 weeks but it is easy to maintain a social life in year 12 as long as you are on top of your work. I did go out on weekends and after school go hang out with friends during this term but yet again this term didn’t go towards anything.

Okay that’s all I want to talk about in this post I’m pretty sure! Overall this term has been extreamly chill but next term is going to be a shock. Comment below if you would want me to do indepth posts about the subjects I do, on spares or anything specific I have talked about in this post.

Whatever year you’re in a school I wish you the best. I hope your year goes great and that you get the marks that you want!

Comment what year you’re in below!

School Life hacks/ tips

Hey guys!
I finally have time to write my school life hacks/tips post!
So Enjoy and I hope this helps! xxf76cd19c64c823a5bc1ce734af2f555a

✏️ Hack/Tip 1:
When taking notes use a variety of different colours and highlighters. For example use a yellow highlighter for examples, blue for names/ dates and pink for definitions. It helps you when you are going through your notes looking for something specific. But just remember to keep to your colour scheme otherwise it get’s unorganised and confusing. So when I type up my notes I always do my “E.G.” In yellow as I do when I write out my notes!

👥 Hack/Tip 2:
While studying, find someone to read out your information too so you are acting like the teacher. It will help you remember the information as you can apply it and teach it too someone. So I read out my notes to my dog because no one else really wants to hear it and i’m not sure why but it just helps explaining it to someone or something.

📝 Hack/Tip 3:
Do many practice exams/ tests before your actual test. This will let you know what information you need to look over and what you already know. Whilst doing this also type up all the questions you didn’t get full marks on and after you have finished doing all the practice tests print out all the questions you didn’t get full marks on and re do it!

📖 Hack/Tip 4:
Have a good study routine. For example study for about 20-30 minutes (remember to stay off your phone for about 3 minutes afterwards) then have a good 15 minute break and then go back and do another 20 minutes. This helps you retain the information more easily.

📚 Hack/tip 5:
Make palm cards/ mindmaps/ summary sheets of the information you have learned. It helps summarise the information and helps you retain it! Also remember to make acronyms, acoustics or bizarre stories with some of the information as it’s easier for you to remember it!

👩🏼‍💻 Hack/Tip 6:
After you’ve written your essay/ notes on your laptop, put it into google translate to make sure you have no spelling errors. This helps as in English grammar obviously plays a big part and you can lose unnecessary marks.

🍫 Hack/Tip 7:
If you’re not motivated to write an essay, read a book or do a practiced exam. Have a reward such as chocolate and tell yourself that after you do a specific amount of work such as 3 chapters, you can have some of the chocolate. I love doing this, I get a bowl of chips and each time I do something such as 4 questions or write 200 words I just have a chip!

📆 Hack/Tip 8:
Make sure you plan out what subjects you are doing to study on a particular day. You do not want to do more than 3 subjects a day as you will get all your information confused.

☕️ Hack/Tip 9:
If you did not get a good night sleep have some coffee to help you stay awake during the day (not recommended to do everyday just when you 100% need it)

📙 Hack/Tip 10:
Study/ do homework in the same place, preferably not a bed as it’s something that is associated with sleep.

I also have some websites/ Apps that can help with school and studying!

👩🏼‍💻 Website 1 you can plan out when you should go to bed by what time you need to wake up. This makes sure you don’t wake up in the middle of REM sleep which would make you way more tired when you get up!

👩🏼‍💻 Website 2 it can keep you out of any websites (such as Facebook) while you are at school or studying.

👩🏼‍💻 Website 3
YouTube channel:
crashcourse-It’s run by Hank and John green and had many videos on different subjects including physics, psychology, economics history etc..
100% RECOMMEND SUBSCRIBING TO THIS CHANNEL. It is amazing. Just make sure you are paying full attention to it as they talk extremely fast!

👩🏼‍💻 website 4
Sparknotes- it provides a deep analysis on a book and brief explanations on characters and plots.
Amazing and extremely helpful. If you have forgotten to read a school book during the holiday just go onto sparknotes and it will give you everything about the book.

👩🏼‍💻 Website 5
Toodledoo- it can help you organise all tasks on the level of priority and into folders. You can also access this on your phone.

📱App 1
Duolingo- Is an app to help learn/ study languages. You play games on the basics, phrases, animals, clothing and plurals. I used this when I did French and it was extremely helpful, playing all the games help you retain the information more easily and help you know what category you need to look at more

📱App 2
Quizlet- An app where you can make flash cards and quiz yourself on them. You can also play a variety of games. I use this so much, as well as normal flash cards. It’s helpful to have it even though I have normal flash cards just incase I’ve forgotten to bring them to school with me or forgotten to take them home! The games also while stressful, help you retain information.

📱App 3
Description- You can write down your class timetables and keep track of special events during the week.

📱App 4
Mindmaple- you can create mindmaps and include diagrams and photos.
(It is $4.99 but extremely helpful when you get to year 12)
If you don’t want to pay this much, on a MacBook you can just search up mind map and you can get a free app that you can make a mindmap on

📱App 5
Be focused- An all that helps you be more stress free. It can manage your tasks, track your theorist throughout the day and can act as a timer while you study.
Extremely helpful during exam time!

I hope this was helpful for you guys!
Comment below if it helped and i’ll make sure to do more posts like this

Back to school Tag

Hey guys!
I am back with another tag again… sorry I don’t have much time right now but I still want to post 🙂
So here you go, hope you enjoy!
My next post will be school tips, or something like that probably 🙂

1.) First day of school jitters?
Weirdly enough when I was younger I enjoyed school so I was never nervous. I also have moved a lot so i’ve been to about 10 different schools so  I guess I just taught myself not to get nervous over it as it’s something that you shouldn’t get nervous for!
2.) Have you ever fallen asleep in class?
Too many times damn
3.) Share your most embarrassing moment in school.
I actually don’t think I have any. I got get embarrassed easily 🙂
4.) Will you (or have you) joined any clubs or sports teams?
I’ve been apart of many sports teams including softball, Netball (about 3 teams), Touch Rugby, Cheerleading, Soccer, Lacrosse, European handball
And clubs it was only the newspaper, debating and glee club
5.) What has been your favorite grade?
Year 5 and year 9 where great times
6.) Did you ever have to wear a uniform?
Al all 10 schools i’ve been too yes ugh
7.) Who was your favorite teacher?
My Health teacher definitely
8.) Least favorite?
One of my old maths teachers ugh
9.) What was the worst thing you ever did at school?
Set the fire alarm off twice (by accident) and accidentally setting half on the science room on fire…
10.) Did you have a car? If so, what were you driving?
Ugh no, not yet!
11.) Are you still friends with anybody you went to school with?
From my old’s schools only like 2 people honestly
12.) Is there anything you would change about your experience with school?
I don’t think so, cause if I changed something it might be different now and I love how it is now! But maybe it would be to not do sociology or doing triple French

Hope you guys enjoyed this!

Quick post/ pls read

Hey guys!
I am going out soon so this post will most likely just just be short!

I want to start off by saying thank you as most of you (probably like 2 people lets be real) really liked my last post ‘school tag’. This leads me to think that these are the type of things you would want me to do some pzeimusu-Thumbtack-note-Important.pngosts about?

I like doing tags that I find on youtube and to write out my answers to the questions. I was wondering what type of things you guys would want to see more off like tips, tags, just me rambling about everyday life or just a little bit of all 3?
If you are reading this please comment what you would prefer. I like writing about all 3, and I know I am only 17 but like I can still give good advice on most things.
